SPECIAL REVIEW ... COLD STONE CREAMERY
*ENLARGE TO VIEW COLD STONE CREAMERY IS A NATION WIDE FRANCHISE THIS ONE THAT I WENT TO WAS AT 1504 OLD COUNTRY RD. WESTBURY N.Y AT THE SOURCE MALL. WE DECIDED TO GO HERE RATHER THAN HAVE DESERT AT P.F, CHANGS . THIS IS A VERY UNUSUAL ICE CREAM PLACE, THE ICE CREAM IS SOFTENED AND THE TOPPINGS ARE MIXED INTO THE ICE CREAM ON A COLD SLAB STONE , HENCE THE NAME COLD STONE . PRICES ARE STEEP $4- 10 FOR ONE OF THEIR CONCOCTIONS. THEY HAVE A LARGE VARIETY OF FLAVORS OF ICE CREAM AND TOPPINGS THE PRODUCT THOU COSTLY IS OF GOOD QUALITY. BUY THE $ 10 SIZE ITS ABOUT A HALF A GALLON . IF YOU DON'T MIND SPENDING A LOT A RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ..END

REVIEW OF THE WEEK... P.F. CHANGS CHINA BISTRO
P.F CHANGS CHINA BISTRO AS IT IS BILLED IS A MODERN CHINESE RESTAURANT THAT NEITHER THE WAIT STAFF , COOKS AND OWNERS ARE NOT OF CHINESE BACKGROUND THE ONLY THING CHINESE IS THE SIGN ON THE MARQUE.IT WAS MY SISTERS BIRTHDAY AND WE WERE CELEBRATING THE OCCASION. WE ORDERS SEVERAL APPETIZERS SUCH AS CHOPPED CHICKEN WITH WATER CHESTNUTS WRAPED IN LETTUCE , WHICH WAS GOOD ,A ND FRIED DUMPLINGS AND DRY RUBBED RIBS .I ORDERED SEARED LAMB AND SCALLIONS . WHEN IT ARRIVED IT WAS ICE COLD AND THERE WAS NO SCALLIONS IN IT ( I SENT IT BACK) THE LAMB LOOKED LIKE STEAK UMS NOT LAMB THE CHOW FUN WAS SUPPOSE TO BE BROAD RICE NOODLED IT WAS EGG NOODLES . OVER ALL I FELL IT WAS BUFFET QUALITY IN A FANCY SIT DOWN SETTING. NONE THE LES S IT WASNT VILE AND I GOT FILLED UP . NOT FORGETTING IT WAS MY SISTERS BONNIES BIRTHDAY PARTY , WE ALL STILL HAD A GOOD TIME , AVERAGE PRICE FOR EACH ENTRE IS AROUND $11 -13 . IF YOU ORDER WINE ORDER THE WINE FLIGHT ( 3 Glass's of wine for the price of one , A SAMPLIER) oh and by the way the rice is either white rice or brown rice , not fried rice ...end

SPECIAL MID WEEK REVIEW 4/18 /O7...BENIHANA
Bennihana Review: A Japanese hibachi restaurant, the decor is like going into a Dojo. Very clean, all the food is cooked in front of you, and you can see that no one is spitting in your food (except for the salad & soup which they bring out from the back). Its not a place for a quick meal, you're there for a good two hours. We had drinks at the bar, as pictured below, drinks at the table celebrating my 58th Birthday. Now I know what a begging dog feels like, they serve you a little bit at a time, while you watch all the other food in front of you that you can't touch. You eat in a group of 12, so you are sitting around the hibachi grill with strangers, but it's not bad. The main course is cooked right in your face, though the stir fry is not as elaborate as a chinese restaurant, but its fresh, it's clean, & done before your eyes. The meal stretched the course of 2 hours & you really get filled up. Bathrooms were very clean (until I went in), I ate so much that I was crowning (pregnant women would understand). Actually a pregnant women was sitting next to me & my stomach dwarfed hers. Overall, I would recommend it if you have some time to enjoy a long dinner, not a place for lunch or if you need a quite bite before going to a show. EndTHE STAFFTHE CHEF

REVIEW OF THE WEEK ... WO HOP by Don Lerman
WO HOP IS LOCATED ON MOTT STREET IN CHINA TOWN , THERE ARE 2 WO HOPS RESTAURANTS ONE UPSTAIRS STREET LEVEL AND ONE BELOW STREET LEVEL IN THE BASEMENT, I'M REVIEWING THE ONE IN THE BASEMENT . FIRST OFF IT WAS SUNDAY AND THERE WAS A NOR EASTER STORM OF HURRICANE PROPORTIONS ON N.Y. WE WALKED IN THE RAIN , MYSELF ,KEVIN LIPSITZ LORRAINE LIPSITZ AND HIS NEPHEW KYLE LIKE SALMON SWIMMING UP STREAM TO GET TO WO HOP. I haven't BEEN THEREFOR 2 YEARS AND WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED THE EGG DROP SOUP WAS NOT THE SAME TASTE AS I WAS ACCUSTUMED TO NOR WAS THE ORANGE STEAK IT WASN'T MADE \THE WAY THE DISH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MADE. THE DISH IS AN ENTRE, THAT IS NO SOUP OR RICE COMES WITH IT, THERE ARE NO COMBINATIONS DINNERS HERE OR FAMILY DINNERS , THE FRIED RICE AND EGG ROLLS WHERE GOOD . WO HOP IS OPEN 24/7 365 EXCEPT FOR CHINESE NEW YEAR. THE BILL WAS FOR AROUND $5O FOR 3 ENTRIES 2 FRIED RICES 2 EGGROLLS AND 3 SOUPS . THIS WAS THE ONLY TIME THAT I WAS DISENCHANTED WITH WO HOP , WO HOP IS THE LAST CHINESE RESTAURANT TO CATER TO A NON CHINESE CLIENTELE IN CHINA TOWN YOU CAN ALWAYS GRAB A CAB TO GET THERE IF YOU COME OUT OF A SHOW LATE AT NIGHT . THE FOOD SAD TO SAY HAS GOTTEN WORSE SINCE I 'VE BEEN THERE 2 YEARS AGO .THE STAIRCASE BY THE WAY IS THE ONLY WAY IN AND OUT THAT I KNOW OF I PRESENTED THESE PICTURED WITHOUT OUR FACES JUST IN CASE WE RETURN SOME DAY .
