I helped make this a sport , I remember as Then Ben's matzoh Ball champ calling Rich Shea and him saying wait till I tell my brother who called at that time The Sheas were only promoting Nathans , I helped changed the course of CE forever I also recall ion 2001 when I was going to hang my spoon and fork up that Rich Shea asked me if I'd like to be a judge at 4th of July Nathans as I was debating whether was going to compete , will he give me the same opportunity today ?

Lerman's comment regarding Rich Shea overenthusiasm in speaking to Lerman on the phone can easily be compared to a couple going on a first date totally enamored with each other even going as far as using pet names for each other. As time goes by they get sick of looking at one another other and the true colors burst out. I guess the same can be applied to the Sheas feelings about Don. As time went on the feelings changed from starstruck to kick the poor guy in the ass like an old shoe.
