<span class=Editorial:Humpty Dumpty Character was pushed he didn't jump ,I Like Humpty Dumpty I was pushed out Of Competitive Eating. I never wanted to leave competitive eating , I was promised that if I would win the Eats of Strength Bologna Challenge that i would be right up on top in the rankings, I had gone to 1 Nathan qualifier in new Hartford and it rained and it threw me off my game that day , i wouldn't have beat Eater x , but doing well would have given me points for the wild card, next I had 6 polyps removed and was scheduled for Molly Pitchers and didn't have good day , the promised was broken and I was placed last in the rankings , a slap in the face a spit in the eye if you ask me,Yes I received the lifetime achievement award , little compensation for someone who made 2 documentaries sold to discovery , food and travel channels ,I sold ce to the press the public only to be thrown away like an old shoe , Krachie has ben invited back at times to compete ,others have been given a postion in the Mle . in essence I built up a sport for the top 5 eaters to rack in the Glory , when I see eaters that came in after me still competing and have more years in than I logged in , it saddens me. My records and efforts are mocked on other sites as mediocore and an old has been . my 60TH birthday came and went without a call,in a nut shell it disgusts me ..end Don Lerman

Dear Don,

I am sorry that I missed your birthday, but please do not take offense. I just didn't know that it was your birthday. So a belated Happy 60th Birthday, Don! In Japanese culture, when a person turns 60, it is believed that they begin a new life or a second life. You have accomplished so much, and I do not think anyone would or should make light of those accomplishments. I encourage you to try to think positively and be proud of yourself and not worry so much about what other people think. That is perhaps the new and positive way of growing older. Good Luck Always Don.

Best,

Crazy Legs Mom

Thank you Crazy legs Mom:I don't know if I will ever compete in a sanctioned event anymore, who's to say that my dental implants are a success or I will have my weight under control as I stated in my editorial others have been awarded positions when they retire , but I haven't that saddens me for all that Ive done . i still consider myself one of the greatest eaters to have walked the Earth and I started competing at 51 . thanks again for your well wishes and wisdom that you passed on to me , be well...Don Lerman
